3-Day/2-Night Trip to Northern France’s Channel Coast from £209 per pupil
You don’t have to spend hours on the autoroutes to get a flavour of French life. Just venture a short distance away from Calais and you will find yourself making all sorts of new discoveries.
For Primary Schools who are new to running school trips to France, please take a look at our very popular two-night ‘taster’ itinerary below. To find out more please email us at email@example.com or complete our web enquiry form. Alternatively, please call us on 01603 300380 quoting BB2. Of course, all our tours can be amended to create a programme around your class’s own aims and ambitions.
Travel by Executive Coach and Eurotunnel or Ferry to France. Your journey to will break at Boulogne where you will visit France’s premier sea-world attraction Nausicaä. After marvelling at the forms of life in the many aquariums and terrariums, you will continue on to arrive at your residential centre to check-in in time for dinner.
After breakfast you will board your coach to experience a typical local market in the lovely seaside resort of Le Touquet (subject to day). After trying your French language skills out at the covered market, you can opt for the little Tourist Train which will take you on a circuit of this stylish town or you can test the knowledge you have gained from the morning activities on the Town Trail, with an educational pack supplied by Euroculture.
The afternoon will offer some sweet treats. Firstly, you will head off to a family-run Biscuit factory where you will be shown all aspects of ‘cookie–craft’ and have the chance to make pizza dough. Next you will call in at an artisanal chocolaterie where you will learn how our favourite confectionary is made before being treated to a little taster! This is also a great opportunity to pick up a few gifts to take home to the family.
After breakfast, you will board your coach (with a packed lunch) for the journey home. Boulogne-sur-Mer is a great spot for the children to have a break and explore the cobbled streets of the walled Old Town, once besieged by Henry VIII. Aside from the old Chateau and the Basilica, the ramparts of the Medieval stronghold offer a fine view down to France’s largest fishing port and the English Channel.
If time allows, we should also be able to schedule a brief shopping trip at a French Hypermarket on route before you head back across the Channel to arrive back at school later in the evening.
